This Winter we are doing a couple of fundraisers for our Amma Haven Project. These include a 2012 kid's yoga calendar that will be available for purchase at various local businesses throughout Edmonton and is now available for pre-order here on our website. Locations will be posted here once the calendar is ready for purchase. 
Our Project Director, Mandi, has also offered up her baking services once again for the Christmas season. (Did we mention that she went to culinary school...yum!) So if you are too busy to do Christmas baking, want a nice hostess gift to take to a party or just want to support a great cause you can order one or contact us for more details. We want to say a huge Thank You to Jessica over at Lotus Soul Gym, who came up with the idea of putting together a kid's yoga calendar for our cause. They got some of their young yogis together for a photo shoot with photographer Brianna Hughes at the Alberta Legislature grounds in early October. The calendar should be out soon! We have recently created a partnership with Ainembabazi's Children's Project. Working in partnership will allow us to collaborate on information and specialties developed while working on our own projects, which will make us stronger as an organization.
The Ainembabazi Children’s Project aims to improve the quality of life and enhance and promote educational opportunities for orphans and vulnerable children in Africa.  Based in Edmonton, Ainembabazi strives to achieve our mandate through  building healthy inclusive communities in Africa as well as conducting  global citizenship education and partnership programs with schools in Canada that work to foster a sense of shared humanity. Currently the organization’s activities focus on providing support to health, education and poverty alleviation to children affected by the AIDS crisis is Southwestern Uganda, support to ante-natal health in Malawi and much more. We now have two events planned to fundraise for the trip. The first being our online auction which will go live this Sunday. New items will be added on a regular basis throughout the coming months. I will post the link here, on Facebook and on twitter.
The second event will be "Murder at the Four Deuces - A Murder Mystery Evening." Ticket information for this exciting event will be available shortly! We hope you all come out for what is sure to be an unforgettable evening.

We are planning a silent auction to fund raise for our trip to Ghana. The event will happen at the end of May. We are currently looking for donations for the auction. We are excited to announce our first Ghana research trip for phase 1 of the Amma Haven project. This phase will involve meeting with people in 4 communities in Ghana in order to determine the best placement for the permanent home of Amma Haven.
