About Earth's Children

Earth's Children is a non-profit organization interested in the needs of youth and children - working with solutions that provide hope for a bright future. It was created in 2009 after Mandi spent the summer volunteering on various projects in Ghana, West Africa.

 Mandi Rondeau - Project Director

Mandi has had a passion for helping children for as long as she can remember. She has spent time volunteering for numerous organizations over the years including Habitat for Humanity, where she worked on a project house and Big Brothers Big Sisters, where she was a 'Big Sister' for numerous years. She then decided that her next volunteer adventure would take her to Africa.
Mandi first visited Ghana in 2008 when she spent a summer working in an orphanage there. She fell in love with the kids and the experience changed her life. When she arrived back in Canada and told her story, Earth's Children was born. The organization spent the next 2 years working on projects in that orphanage.
She has been back to Ghana 2 additional times and is looking forward to EC's new project there as well as visiting other countries in Africa and starting some projects closer to home in the near future.

 Kathy Rondeau - Financial Director

Kathy is an active Rotarian, has chaired and been involved in many non-profit organizations and has a special passion working with organizations involved in the rural way of life and ones that hold interest for the development of youth and children.  Her company, Zephyr Training, spends time volunteering with local charities and this past year the staff all spent a day working for Habitat for Humanity.  She spent the summer of 2009 living in Ghana.  From this experience and being involved in local organizations with an interest in African programs – she is excited about being involved in the Amma Haven project.
